Can they at least change the email?

By Normal Joe | May 16, 2008

Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!

As you know, I have been removing myself from multiple email lists, in order to stay focused. What I have noticed is that when a launch comes around, people usually promote the same launch. When you promote for these launches, you, as an affiliate, are provided with multiple promotional tools. Emails, banners, ads, everything you need to promote. But what gets me is….

THEY PROMOTE WITH THE SAME EXACT EMAIL, THEY DON’T CHANGE ANY OF THE WORDING!!!!!

Most of these emails start off with ” hey, my buddy “guru x” is doing a crazy deal and is letting my list subscribers in on the action!!” or something like that…

And, I don’t know, I mean, I know they are promoting…but, you can’t take time to change up the email? You can’t make your promotion a little unique? Don’t you think people are on more mailing lists than just yours! I just think it’s a little lazy and naive to think you can just fling out the same email as everyone else. I mean, I’m sure they work, and you get sales….but, I’ve only seen a few actually change it up, or even just write their own, and it’s more personal, seems more genuine.

Like I said, it’s just me venting a little bit, as I see these emails flood my inbox….more lists are getting the axe!

see ya

Frankly that is just a useless marketing tactic, I will admit that as an author of an internet marketing ebook on ClickBank myself I give an email for my affiliates to blast people with, I can’t imagine it working if somebody sees the same email twice. I have my own newsletter and mailing list yet I guard it like a golden egg, sending out repeated blasts of over-promoted products will simply drive away hard fought opt-ins.

Yeah, I know some people use them, and I understand why, but I just don’t like it myself. As a product author, what are your reasons for providing it, if you think it is useless? Why not just skip it?
