So, you want to know can you really make money with a blog? Well, the answer is yes…duhhhhhh (remember that word?)
Blogs are hot right now, and will only continue to grow. It is a known fact that people are making a very good living simply from having a blog. Now, just putting a blog online will not automatically guarantee you will make any money at all. In order to make money from a blog, you will need to have a lot of traffic, and repeat readers, and a good monetization strategy.
Once you have this, there will be companies that may want to advertise on your blog, you will also be able to capitalize off of affiliate programs, where you can get a certain percentage of the sales that come through ads or links on your site.
There are various resources out there that teach you all you need to know in order to benefit financially from your blog, some better than others. Since this blog is dedicated to helping your create some cashflow with your own blog as well as documenting my own success and failures, I will continually provide tips, and resources to help you out.
Though blogger is a great and easy way to get a blog up and running, eventually you will want to have at least one blog that resides on your own hosting, with your own domain name, using Wordpress. This will allow you the most freedom with your blog and how you chose to monetize it. This is really the way to go if you are at all serious about being a “problogger”.
But for those just starting out, with no investment capitol at all, you can start by setting up an account with blogger and starting one or more blogs, and start looking for ways to monetize. The easiest way is to implement bloggers built-in Adsense widget. This will display ads from Google that are relevant to your blog’s content.
I know, for most of my readers, you have your own Wordpress blog and this post means absolutely nothing to you! Bare with me, remember, we still have readers that know nothing about blogs, blogging, or making money online. I have to hook them up too….just let your eyes glaze over this post and charge it to my tab!

@ Chandra - one of the best assets for internet marketers is having a blog, they are so easy. You can start one on blogger.com or wordpress.com for free. I’d go with blogger myself. Then, when you are able, I would get my own Wordpress blog on a hosted server. If you have no idea what this means let me know lol, I’ll help you when you’re ready
They key to making money online with a blog is to stick to it!
I agree Susan…..many want fast money, but a blog overtime is a great asset, I say start blogging soon, even to those who don’ t have their own hosting.
So you can get used to blogging and find your “blogging swagger” lol, so you know how you want to blog. Then, you’ll be ready when you get your own hosting for a Wordpress blog.
