Why Do You Read My Blog? I Really Want To Know.
By Normal Joe | August 29, 2008
Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!
What Makes You Visit IMwithJoe.com?
I’m not playing, and I’m not going crazy, I am genuinely interested in what brings you kind folks to this blog. See, the thing is, you could be spending your time doing tons of other things, visiting and reading other sites during the time you spend here. I want to know what it is that affords me the privilege of having you all as my readers.
I know you don’t JUST read this blog, but you read it regularly. I really feel a sense of community growing
here, which was always my goal, so I want to know the things that are helping to build that community. This
is your chance to speak out, tell me what you like, what you don’t like, what you’d want to like if I actually implemented it on the blog. (I know, more sammiches!)
I guess you can look at this as my blog evaluation. Any of you who have worked for someone else before, know that you get evaluated on your performance. Well on this blog, I work for you, so to speak…because
really without you all there would be no me! I understand that…and that’s what makes it so exciting. So, for those that can spare the time, I’m asking for you to evaluate this blog and me. Rather than guess like most people do, I decided to come out and ask. You guys know I don’t do things the normal way, so…it shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m asking you to openly trash me on my blog if you want!
Just be gentle…lol
Learning How To Blog From Your Blog Readers
You guys know I’ve been talking about focus and clearing out the fluff and all that, and I hope you’ve appreciated it, and I hope it’s been helpful. I’ve been realizing more and more that all the tactics, techniques, tricks, and methods for blogging can really amount to a bunch of crap.
If you leave out the most important component to a successful blog…THE READERS! Oh sure content is “king” and design/layout is “queen” but to me readers are LIFE!
All the greatest content, with the best design amount to a pile of cow dung if your blog doesn’t have LIFE! That life comes from the folks that read it. I can go out to my car and sit in it…yeah it may look nice, it may have all the proper “content” as in the components and such, but it’s going nowhere without fuel.
YOU ARE MY FUEL! Yes I’m motivated to succeed online for my family, but I’m motivated to blog because of you all.
There are many ways to make money online, ones that don’t involve community and interaction, but I love it! However, if I didn’t have such a wonderful group of folks around, and more coming each and everyday…it wouldn’t be worth it!
I love seeing your crazy comments, and your insightful tips. So here’s your chance to let me know what it is you like, want, or think can be improved. I’m taking notes as I want to provide you with the best experience possible when you’re here ![]()

Well
I read you blog because i’m always on the look out for new things and information.I have used some of the links for you blog to visit other bloggers you have listed. Plus you video are funny to when you promo the sponsor of the day. One thing though you volume on you video could be a little bit louder.
I found it low on some. Its just very interesting the methods other bloggers use that I could apply on my own blog.

Hey Joe! I read your blog because you are unique!
I really like the fact that you are so into producing videos instead of a blog filled with text. The videos really add a lot to your blog and some days I don’t feel like reading ANOTHER blog post. I read a lot throughout the day and I even have to wear glasses while I am working on the computer.
So being able to see a video and listen to it gives me a nice break from having to read yet another post.
Plus, I am a stat junkie myself. I have always been interested in the actual numbers behind the site such as visitors, pageviews and what not. I really like that you report weekly on your statistics. It gives you something to work towards and gives you that drive to see bigger numbers.

Thanks J! That really helps, especially the part about reading all day and being able to come and get some video content! It really puts things into perspective with my videos man…
I’m also glad you like the weekly stats, I just want you guys to experience the growth with me and I am glad it motivates you to keep moving.

I read imwithjoe.com because you write for the normal Joe in all of us. It is great to visit a blog daily that has personality and charisma, but can also deliver the goods, and in such a manner that I am not sweating by the end of it.
This post, and your blog serves as inspiration for me to try and convey my message to the readers of my blog in almost the same manner. Your delivery above all else guarantee’s that a reader will come back, why? Because your our friend, not just the author of the content you relation of it to us and our own situations without you even having to know us is above and beyond.
Keep up the good work Joe!

Cool dude! Thanks for that B…that’s what I’m going for. I want you guys to feel like you are part of this site, and part of my life, part of my success. I don’t ever want to talk “at” you or anyone that reads my site, I want to have conversations “with” you.
I just want to show folks that you can be yourself and have success.

I’ll be honest man, I read your text posts, but I “look forward” to your video posts on a daily basis and that’s because of your personality and humor first.
Obviously, it helps that you’re in the same “field” as me and the content is is what landed me here in the first place. However, more than antyhing, I subscribe because I feel like I’m dropping by for a coffee and seeing “what’s up with my buddy Joe” when I come over to watch the daily vid. I’m also 100% certain that I’ll be entertained for anywhere between 3-10 minutes. lol
That’s why I’m always cryin’ out for the vids man. lol
Cheers for asking!

Hey Joe,
You know, some of us like myself learn in a different way. I’m a visual learner, I learn by seeing things done because I’m a visual person. Your videos are a great tool; yea you have posts that are good too but again I’m here for the videos. Not a lot of bloggers do this and this is your advantage. Late.

Thanks Fred, I love it! I’m really glad you like the videos, as I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started doing them. I just put myself out there and it seems to be a good reaction. It’s helpful to know that folks really learn from them and use them as a change of pace, I will definitely take this to heart and use it to my advantage and to continue to cater to the visual learners.

Hey Joe,
I read your blog because of your style. You don’t try to be something your not, and you totally crack me up. I’m drawn to bloggers who can admit that they’re just regular folks like the rest of us, and enjoy passing along information they gain along the way.
You’re video posts are way cool. I could never put myself out there like you do, so I’m totally in awe of the fact that you do it so well.
I read your blog because I know I’ll be both entertained and enlightened at the same time. And I always look forward to the next installment.

I found your blog last week and bookmarked it immediately. Your personality was the 1st thing I noticed. Many bloggers seem boring and I really enjoyed your vlogs (even though I normally do not like them). The only thing was some of the videos it is very hard to hear even when my speaks are jacked up as high as they go.

Hey Joe, I’ll be completely honest with you here. I read it because I really admire your heart. I like the way that you don’t really care what anybody else thinks and you just set yourself up to leave people with their own opinions. For a guy that is well “relatively new” to some of the things online you actually are giving all of us a bit of a lesson. That lesson is not worrying about what other people think and just completely being yourself. I admire that bud, no second guessing for anybody. It’s refreshing! Personally, I think you got a great future in this business Joe…. The reason being most importantly….your honest and real….I don’t care what anybody else thinks, to me, those are the most important qualities for a marketer to have!
Cheers Joe

I’m also pretty intrigued by how fast you’re growing, which you already know because I’ve told you so- that alone has me keeping an eye on you; can’t wait to see what you do next and how you’re doing a year from now.

Joe,
I started visiting this blog regularly because the videos are hilarious. You are really a funny dude. As I was watching video after video and enjoying myself, I began to click on the links you suggest and take to heart some of the teaching stuff you put out there and I realized that I was learning a lot.
Then, the community or rather, the fact that you comment to everyones comments and people interact is great. This is really the first blog that I got involved with and I really enjoy it, so I come back.
After I kept coming back and participating on the other sites, I began to become familiar with the other commenters and site owners through their comments. This further the sense of community and I learned from each one of them.
So now I have a small network of internet marketers that I read and interact with that all sprung from reading your blog….thus this continues to keep me coming back.
But I have to be honest, it is the hilarious videos that are #1 to me.
I’m with Joe!

In addition, I have been inspired by you and want to start doing some video blogging of my own. I have a very good plan set up (different niche from yours), now just gotta find the time and energy to ad it to my already full plate.
To sum it up: You are “good people” and it comes through in your video posts, capish?
