Mailing List Reader Relationships

By Normal Joe | April 26, 2008

Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!

I don’t know about you, but, when I first started, I signed up for EVERY SINGLE MAILING LIST I could find.  I mean why not?  They were all promising to show me how to become successful.  Well, after a while, I started to realize, ALL MAILING LISTS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL!

Some of them do nothing more than try to sell me stuff constantly, everyday, multiple times a day.  I hate those.  I like the ones that actually try to help me in my business, that ask me questions about what I want to learn, you know, make it more personal.

Yeah, they still promote products to me, but that’s not the only time I hear from them.  Using mailing lists, is all about relationship building, and making sure your readers can trust you.  Which will never happen if all you do is sell, push, sell, beg!

Remember to treat your readers with respect, offer them something worth having, and they will be with you for years to come.

Very nice post. I never did understand mailing lists but I do know they can be very useful if used correctly.

Yeah, it’s a good way to build your business. If you do it write, it’s like writing your own checks, but…the key is to actually build up true relationships because people will see through the fake stuff.
