I’m using Google Friend Connect. Let’s hook up!

If you’re on my list, I told you about this already (hint, if you want the news first, join the list) I added google friend connect to my site.
What is it?
It’s a social networking type of platform that google has put out, allowing everyone to turn their site into a social hub.
What can you do?
You can join the site, leave comments on the social wall, make friends with others on the site, and find out what other sites folks belong to.
It can syndicate your actions across all the sites you belong to.
Think facebook status, or twitter, myspace updates…but on other peoples websites and the sites you like to visit.
I think it’s cool, I’m still figuring out what the best way to use it is, for now, I’m just trying to connect with people and find others that like the same type of stuff I do.
So, go ahead and sign in over in the sidebar, you can see the social bar at the bottom that shows what’s been going on, the latest activity.

Any Joeville citizens that have their own website and add google friend connect I will join it.

By the way…
If you do have a website, this could be a nice source of traffic that stays around more, as long as you keep it interesting.Â
We’ll see, but I think it will be fun and I am happy to be in the beginning stages of it, you know how the big G does it.

Yo Joe, I’ve been seeing those things on a bunch of sites and had NO idea what they were. I always thought they were just some random affiliate ad or something. Thanks for the info man, I might have to join now.

As for Google Friend Connect, my initial reaction is “ah man! something else I gotta join?” lol. It seems like just when you’re getting used to one social activity, there’s like 23 more new ones that are “hot”. But, I guess if it means that I can be an “official citizen” of Joeville, then maybe I will.

Yo, we got 3 kids man, snacks is a MUST in my house yo!
The friend connect man, I think it could be pretty dope actually. I’m still studying it, but I think it updates your actions across all the connected sites you belong to. I need to research it a bit more, but I think for Joeville, it’s a good fit, maybe not all sites, but this one for sure.
I’ll keep ya updated on what I’m doing with it.
