Are you a Facebook gamer?

I know I know…most  marketers will tell you it’s a waste of time.

But here in Joeville, we try to make our marketing fit our personality!

Now, I’m not a gamer myself, but I have TONS of friends that are.

So I wanted to talk about how playing facebook games can make you money and fit into your customer attraction plan.

Treat it just like any other social gathering.  In real life, if you have a hobby that involves other people, eventually what you do “for a regular job” or whatever usually comes up.

Use the facebook game you’re playing as a “common denominator” that connects you with the others that play it.  It automatically starts the relationship building process and brings peoples gaurd down a bit more because you are a “familiar” face.

Don’t go hardcore and try to sell them your services because they bought a melon from you in the farm game!

Just use it as a social commonality to start building a normal relationship.

Here in Joeville, we don’t shun what is part of your character…we just find ways that you can use it for business too!

Have fun!

Let me know what you think below…yes, leave me a comment, I like them a lot!

peace

Orange Juice is the best!!! That’s is a great sponsor. Think i’m going to go and get some goodness in my life.

MAAAAFIIIIAAAAA WARS!!! I am hooked. It’s all good. I can admit it and am not afraid to say it.

But I can feel what you are saying, because if we take a moment to get to know the people that send energy or help in a battle or whatever, because we do have this game in common.

And over a period of time, you do get to become more familiar with these people. That is a great thing about it and if they are into what I am into, then a business connect could happen.

    I am feeling it, Joe!

    Yeah Son!

Get that OJ in your life…for real. But there is still nothing like freshly squeezed OJ, but it takes so many oranges to make that happen.

I can feel you on the Facebook games. Just another way to bond, interact, and connect with people. That’s what’s up.

Hard to believe the Internet marketer who loves music and gear is not into gaming. What happened? You must have gotten smashed really bad in “Bird vs. Magic” back in the day and could not shake that whooping!

Or you had no game in “Run n Gun” and it is just carrying over.

    It’s all good…….Still….

    I’M WITH JOE!!!

Funny.. just last night and this morning I was thinking about this very subject Joe! Great minds think alike right? ha

I don’t play the games either but seems like almost ALL my friends on facebook play Farmtown! I was actually thinking of some way to monetize off of that. Maybe write up a small e-book with tips and tricks… something along those lines… I dunno.. just talking out loud…

It’s amazing at the time people will spend on a game like farmtown, but they say they don’t have time to learn Internet Marketing and making money hahaha.. i just don’t get it!

But anyway, I say there’s a huge opportunity there if you/ I / we could figure out how to capitalize on it… I mean I understand what you’re saying about connecting and getting into their personal side, but I really believe if we could figure out how to monetize something that they are already interested in (facebook games) then it could be huge!

Yeah man, I hear ya! That’s a pretty common marketing angle, find a need and fill it! I’m sure you could come up with something!

I was just trying to point out something I thought about, that may not get looked at, I mean hey, if folks are already there, then why not use it to their advantage!

Joe??? What are you doing, man? Telling people to play Facebook games?? Dude, have you seen how addicted people are to that stuff….oh…wait….I see what you’re doing….

You’re about to launch a product on “hot to cure your facebook game addiction and get your life back”, aren’t you!? Good thinkin’ buddy!

Get ‘em addicted, and then sell ‘em the cure! You’re a freakin’ GENIUS!

    Cheers!

Nah man! I’m talkin bout folks that are already there playing! I’m NOT advocating getting involved if you’re not already, or getting involved just as a business strategy, but trying to help the folks that are already there doing that.

I would never try to create a market to build up a product hahaha lol…though….that would be hardcore lol.

    Hi Joe,

Interesting way to see the game addiction at Facbook, just one thing, if you get so jubky game addict like them then how are you going to remember why you were playing in the first place, lol. Or maybe you are actually doing what Suite J its saying above, if that so, what a clever and evil way to make some money, lol.

Btw, I assume that SunnyD was very tasty, it looks you show the bottle with only half of the juice in it, lol.

Hahaha, well, I’m talkin bout folks that are already doing it, not people who aren’t.

I’m not suggesting to go on over and find a game just to help your business lol, that would be a dumb suggestion lol.

I’m just saying, if you already there, take advantage of your surroundings.

You won’t see me there though, but I’ve seen it happen with my music. People I’ve connected with via music, eventually ask what I do and we start talking and I realize I can either help them with my knowledge (client) or collaborate with them (partnership).

just be aware of your surroundings and opportunities…they are all around.

    You WILL be assimilated!

:-) Joe, are you sure that you want to encourage me in my sickness? Actually, it’s funny that you bring this up, because this is exactly how I’m pitching FarmTown to a friend of mine. Her first novel is being published next year, and she’s starting the marketing buzz now. When she complained that she didn’t have time to play games, I told her “It’s not procrastinating, it’s NETWORKING”. Unfortunately, I think that merely increased her Twitter addiction.

You know, it’s funny that Jake was thinking of doing an ebook on FarmTown. I was thinking of doing the very same thing, but was too busy playing the game to find out if there’s already one out there… I’ll tell you what- Jake, you do the e-book, and I’ll pimp it. ;-)

Now I need to grab Jarret so we can out number Freddie and make him start farming with us. We’ll start a commune of internet marketing farmers, and then? Take over the world!

Hey, Top Ten- if you want to join each other’s mafia, I put my FB profile in the URL box. ;-)

Hey Jake? I just checked into it. There’s at least one FarmTown e-book (found it on ebay), but obviously there are updates since then (4 square plowing, etc). I didn’t see where it’s hosted from, though. Plus, there’s a Mafia Wars Secrets e-book through clickbank. ;-)

I’m not going to even try it. I get sucked in into stuff like that way to easy. And then it’s couple weeks of doing nothing else but playing it. I can’t have that.
