How To Reach Success Through Teamwork And Having The Right Friends

You Become Who You Associate With

It’s no secret that you will at some  point pick up the habits of, and assimilate the actions of those you surround yourself with.  It works like a puzzle of sorts. Oh I know, you’re not easily influenced! Yeah…okay, so it may take longer but eventually you will pick up on some methods, techniques, lingo or many other things that originate from those you surround yourself with.  Which is why it’s important to surround yourself with the right people.

If everyone in your “circle” is negative, you will no doubt become negative no matter how positive of a person you think you are, you need reinforcements to continue to grow.  Having people who are working towards the same or similar goals as you will no doubt help you tremendously, which is why I am always looking to network and meet new folks.

A Trustworthy Companion Is Priceless

No matter what you do, having someone you can trust involved will make things a lot better.  As it relates to business, if you have someone you can share ideas with, without worrying about them running off with them, you can become a lot more productive.  People whom you share trust with will also be able to keep you on track, push you towards your goals, and let you know when something just isn’t working! In keeping with the focus and productivity theme I’ve been on this week, I just want to encourage you to network more.  Not just to build links, but to build bonds that last!

    Great post and video Joe.

You really hit the nail on the head with networking and having a group of individuals that you can trust. While I have always been an extremely quiet individual I have started to work towards being more social. At times it is tough and and times I don’t even want to make a post, leave a comment or help somebody but I know that if I always do what I feel then I will never get anywhere.

Sure commenting on other blogs can help get you some traffic. But you can always take it a step further and actually get to know the person behind the blog. I have recently branched out quite a bit and have been frequently commenting over at Garry Conn’s blog. I’ve asked him a few questions through email and he was nice enough to answer them on his blog while giving me a link. But what people don’t see is the great conversations we have in IM where Garry has taught me some very valuable information and has given me a lot of insight into how he does what he does. Inspired, I have started to apply some of that information that he has given me and I have been able to actually get something done rather then sitting around thinking about getting it done.

No doubt Jarret I agree, and glad you liked it! I too have had similar interaction with Garry Conn, he’s a great guy and always wiling to help out. He will share with you what he does, all you have to do is apply.

I certainly am glad you started to get involved man! I value your insight and companionship, and only look forward to how much we can grow together :)

LMAO. I was gona say “thanks for the love”, but I’m not sure if that’s love or not. I am lonely man, and feel inadequate with my small numbers showing on the site. I already got a big head man, I don’t need small stats too.

“Bribe To Subscribe” could be a pretty kick ass eBook title man. Can I have that?

I’d prefer not to think of it as bribeds, but I guess it is. lol. I’m just havin’ fun over there man. yeah, I’m hoping for subscribers, but I’m trying to show that I’m willing to give back for your time and show that I mean it. :) ……ok, you’re right, I need friends too. :(

Oh, and great comments on networking man. Genuine people are key, not “necessarily” their level of success You can sometimes gain more insight from the hungry newbie than you can from the busy guru. :)

Cheers buddy! (you are my buddy right? …we’re friends??..Joe???)

I am feeling this post. Networking is everything in every business. This is so true. I own an offline real estate appraisal company that is heavily dependent on networking. You don’t know and meet people, you don’t eat.

Online it is a little different. You don’t really NEED the people the same way. It really helps to network online. Honestly, you were one of the first people that really reached out to online and that was through commenting on your blog. Since then, you haven’t spilled all the goodies, but you have really help me out a lot.

    I couldn’t pass either up.

After that, I’ll get my personal project up so that I scream to the world how great you all of you guys are (besides on your blogs).

So how does the KeywordLuv thing work. I should search and see if you have a post on it.

Sounds good man! With keyword luv, just put in your name@Top CD Rates and the link will use the text after the @ as your anchor text. So then we can actually know your name lol, and you still get a link back with whatever text you wish.

My strategy for blogs that use it, is to try different keywords on different blogs, and maybe different ones on the same blog once I make the top commentator with one set lol. It’s all luv and that’s what it’s there for.

    Joe,

You’re absolutely correct my friend. It’s to the point where I’m intentionally looking to avoid taking someone’s habits and making them my own.

It’s easy to avoid with people who you don’t associate much with, but it’s not as easy when it’s people you’re with everyday — so I definitely see where you’re coming from.

The only way to avoid it from my perspective, is having extremely strong character, or never hanging around any given person for too long — be a loner LOL!

He’s not even a techie and doesn’t even know how to start a website but I decided to get him involved in one of my project because he’s such a good friend and we wanted to be part of something together. Of course I did all the programming/web design part, but we shared some awesome ideas and came up with a website now driving some 500-1000 uniques a day after only three months and it’s a good money maker! It was all about the ideas…

He’s also pushing ideas I wouldn’t have tried alone so it’s really good to have a partner in business.
