    Nice recap.

Time really kills blogs. TUK is selling because of time issues.

I’m really looking forward to your new posts!

So I decided to finally show my ugly mug around here ;)

Sounds like you are still doing quite well in terms of visitors and what not.

Interesting to hear that those blogs are up for sale though I think that most bloggers start a blog to make money from it. If after awhile they aren’t making as much as they thought they would from advertisers they just take the easy road and try to sell it.

Yeah bout time sucka! Hahaha, well…folks have their reasons I guess. I know TUK’s isn’t about money, he makes enough :) maybe not from that blog, but he always said he didn’t. He has school finals and some vacation coming up so he decided to let it go.

I’m here to stay, u sum bees can’t get rid of me!

Nice update. There’s been a lot of talk about everyone wanting to sell their blogs lately. It just makes it easier for people that are competing with them.

I haven’t commented here in awhile! Feedburner has been acting weird again with readers fluctuating up and down dramatically each day. Alexa has been going back up for lots of sites recently including mine.

You should post the links you mention in your video in the post to show some link love to those blogs! Or even better if you mention a site to visit cause you recommend it…list it! lol

hey Joe, that Mrs. Butterworth chick is hot! But I’ve already had her and she was sooo sweet.

I always wondered about selling a blog. How do you sell a personality anyways? Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but I guess it depends on the blog style. I can see anyone replacing you man.

I knew she was steppin out on me man! Across borders even! I don’t know man…I mean some types of blogs I think would do okay, if it’s mainly just a lot of info. But when the blog is setup around a specific personality…I just don’t see it being a good move.

I regards to selling a blog, if you have to develop the blog properly. If your blog is solely based on your personality (such as Joe’s because who can replace this man!) then you can’t really sell the blog. This can be an issue since every viewer expects you to provide the information in any form such as video or text. Now if you build a blog that has a brand, such as John Cow, it doesn’t matter who’s running the blog as long as you continue to deliver the content.

This is my belief: If you want to sell your blog then build your brand and not your personality. Your blog will be worth more if there’s a brand behind it since it’ll have more potential for the buyer.

Yeah…I think not just the visual, but the voice of the blog too…if your voice is too distinct, then it will be tough. If it’s more of a general voice…then it’s okay! I’m not saying one way or another on the blogs for sale currently…I’m just saying in general.

Sweet update man, got some nice stats on this blog!

I agree with David, that if you’re thinking of selling your blog you should brand an identity that isn’t a personality. How could someone else pull of normal joe? Certainly not any normal joe with dreads! It’s gotta be the normal joe with dreads, haha

Hmmm… yeah the trend of selling blogs has been hitting hard into the blogosphere lately. In my opinion this means two things :

    1) You know, rats always leave the sinking ship first. But then again, I think this is not the case.

    2) People had the illusion that making money online with blogs could be easy as 1,2,3, yet it is easy, only you must know what you’re doing. And some just followed this illusion until failed.

I’m not talking about everyone, but about the “hit n’ run” bloggers.

    Cheers !

Hahaha, well…the guys I know that are selling have good reasons, TUK definitely is making money elsewhere and just ran out of time for that blog.

Sly wanted to make a major purchase he needed…so, yeah, it’s all good.

But, your observation was hilarious, I bet it’s true for a few out there.

Yeah lol…maybe. It’s also the voice, even folks that don’t do video sell their blogs and then it fails because that “voice” is gone. I don’t know man..to each his own. I’m happy for anyone that can make money from an asset they built up.

Forgot this point: actors change on movie rolls all the time. If you give the people a chance to adjust, its like they never changed.

Well, actors are just that…they are playing a character. Not the same when you run a blog as yourself…..and I’ve seen very few actually bounce back. But like I said, if the voice of the blog is not very unique, then changing is no problem. But when your writing actually has a distinct voice, it makes it tons harder.
