Site updates and beefsteaks
By Normal Joe | August 11, 2008
Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!
You know Mondays bring with it a recap of the past week and projections or plans for the upcoming week. I plan to bring you some more articles, as I am past the extensive maintenance mode I was in for the site last week. Yes I’ll still be tweaking, but the huge stuff is done.
I am still working on the theme for ifthisblogcouldtalk, and I’m going to hold off on the launch of it. Trust me, the plan I have in place will make it much better for everyone, and soon you should start seeing “teasers” of my interviews poping up on this site
So here’s the update for the week, hope everyone has a great week!

Sup Keith..good to see ya back around. As for keyword luv, for some reason, it’s not working properly with my new theme. I’m not sure what it is, as, I have this theme setup on another test domain and it works fine!
I don’t know if I have another plugin that is conflicting with it or what…but, I’m working on it.

@Normal Joe - Ah OK, I thought maybe it was being abused or something…

HI Joe! You made me laugh!! Great video. Yeah, I will try to comment more here, and I will try to post more on my own blog too.
But I am gonna be really busy, so I dunno if I’ll have time. I’m working on my Internet Marketing Masters Degree, you know. I have a lot of homework this week and long days in school - 10 hours of lectures scheduled for tomorrow - 16 E-Books to read this week, 6 videos … oh yeah, and then there’s the exams! Whew.
So I dunno, I might just be too busy learning Internet Marketing, to write any posts or comments. But I’ll try, okay? Yeah, maybe I can even write an article or a Press Release … maybe I can fit that into my busy schedule. Lets see … 5 hours watching videos on how to make money online, 4 hours reading E-Books, and 3 1/2 hours per day reading all my promotional emails from all these nice people who are going to teach me how to REALLY make money online.
Ha! Got it all worked out.

Oh snap! You’ve got a full schedule this semester huh? Well, if you find time for the extra stuff like writing for your blog and networking with other bloggers in between all your PHd studies, don’t forget about us little guys.
I couldn’t get a scholarship for IM University so I just grabbed a second hand copy of a book by Holly Mann called Honest Riches. It’s sort of like “cliff notes” for IM University courses. I must say, you should check it out in my Top Tools section
It’s great for the marketers on a budget who are looking for a nice volume of information that covers a majority of topics.
I don’t get all the fancy video courses with it like you have…, nor do I get the audios, all I get is the classic manual by Holly Beth Mann…..before you turn all your course material back in…can you allow some of us less fortunate to purchase is second hand…after all, we NEEEEEEEEEEEED that stuff to be successful right? Right?…….

Um … maybe I’m lost here Joe. Successful at what?
I mean, I hate to break it to you, but if you want a degree, you have to go to college. I’m sorry, that’s just the way it is.
And if you want to go to college, you have to pay for it. If you don’t have money for it, I can’t help you there. I mean - I guess you could try to get some money for course materials, but I am really not sure how. Have you checked into government grants? Are you expecting any inheritance?
Otherwise I dunno. If you want this degree but you don’t have the money to pay for the materials … life is rough. Oh - I knew one guy who worked as a bus boy to get through college. Maybe you could check out the possibilities?

Indeed…I was just hoping you had a spare book lying around, seeing as how we can’t make it without the degree. You’ve been so helpful I thought you may be able to help us out….I know the material may be last years material, but that’s okay!
Ahh well…I could always slang griddle cakes on the corners to the people on their way to IM class… hmmmm….
(runs off to find a way to complete IM undergrad)
thanks Anna!

Hey Hugo…I just came from your site…weird huh?! Thanks for stopping by and offering some encouragement. I just try to share my personality through my blog and hopefully there are people that can connect and identify with me.
Hope we see you around more often

@Normal Joe -
Haha. Griddle cakes sounds great. You’ll make more money than all of the full-time students combined!
When Holly publishes her new edition you will have plenty to study. Don’t worry about that. Otherwise you can get a free E-Book on my blog, or on a lot of other people’s blogs … and if that’s not enough I have a hard drive full of them.

Indeed….I’m just messing around….or am I? I do love Holly’s book, I know the update will be great and I will definitely be doing some heavy promo on this site for it!
There is quite a lot out there to learn, and people could get caught up spending all day “learning” and no time doing. There is also the case of “information overload” that folks have to be mindful of.
I really don’t have anything against the large home study courses, if they actually provide value. But if they are full of fluff that could have been put into an ebook but was “expanded” to make a home study course then I see an issue.
Ahh well….I loved Holly’s book when I got it, sure…she doesn’t include all the bells and whistles like video and audio, but she covers the foundational and even some advanced things you need.
Again, I hope my readers can take my “promo” when she drops it…because I will definitely be supporting her launch.

Ha! I love your avatar dude! But yeah man…I just had the idea and thought it would be cool…maybe one day I can tell you where the idea sort of came from.
I really want everyone to feel part of the site, not just another site they visit, but a place you all can call home and an author that you can trust.
The videos take away a little of that anonymity, and also help me maintain my honesty and integrity as I feel you guys know me. I don’t want to hide behind words and websites, like so many others do. I really want my site to be an experience.
As for the new blog…dude, it’s gonna be pretty fun, I’m pretty close to being ready, I may need some help with the theme

Joe, thanks for the shout out! That was great to mention all the new visitors of your blog. Great way to include them. It really made me feel special, sure it did the same for the other viewers.
They your daughter to have a great day at school. Kindergarten is a great year and very important in the development. I know you are doing your thing as a parent.
As for the videos, I love the way you are breaking them down into sections. And I see your titles/headings coming along as well. The transition music is on point as well. Keep it consistent and it will strengthen your branding.
Like Jay, I cannot wait until you drop “If this blog could talk”. BTW, I think that is an outstanding name.
As usual,
I’m with Joe!

No problem Freddie, I really appreciate you getting involved with the site!
Ahhh yes….my daughter is ready, we went up to the school yesterday to meet the teachers and drop off their school supplies. They even gave us ice cream
As for the videos, thanks for the compliments. Some of them don’t require the sections but I know the weekly updates will always be that way….at least that’s the plan. Again, I just want to provide you guys with a different experience on this site…a reason to visit, and to make you feel at home.
I’m sure you will like the site dude!
