As you can see, there are some changes round these parts :). This is a work in progress, but, I decided to change it up for a few reasons. Please provide your feedback on the new look and changes as I really want to know what you guys think. I made a little video explaining what is going on.
Why I Changed the Site Theme
Well, for one…I was tired of the old one. I spent quite a bit of time on it, but, I finally got sick of it. To me, it seemed to look like everyone elses. Not identically, but, the “feel of it. So, I wanted to make my blog more personal and inviting, this is the main reason for the changes. I’ve always liked a clean theme…so, I spent quite a bit of time yesterday and today hacking up this theme to my liking. There are still some things I’m working on and some features I plan to implement.
Rest assured, Normal Joe isn’t going anywhere! On the contrary, I’m kicking my feet up and making my little casa in the blogsphere more comfortable. So, watch the vid and let me know what you think.

The new look is great, much cleaner and it has some more of your personality in it. Good to see your videos are picking you up new subscribers too!

Hahaha….yeah man! I be on it…gotta have that balance in there though, fresh fruit man. Actually, I’m a fruit fanatic man, I love fruit…and salad…along with every other type of sammich and such I can get my hands on!

shortly to let U know that I like your new theme: it’s clean and has everything needed.
The only thing I’m missing is a search box. I’m of the few persons who often uses it when I come back and search for an old post.

Joe, just to let you know… if you don’t get a search bar, Alex will bug you about it for a full year until you get one… believe me, I speak from experience. LOL!!!!

Hi Joe,
So the videos are funny, I really like them. Just a little too long for me but I am sure you can trim them down to around 3 minutes no prob…
The new theme is excellent. Very nice A + + + + I love it.
Let me ask why you are no following your categories on your sidebar yet dofollowing your blogroll. That in the long run will suck your link juice down to nothing.
I’d reward your favorite blogs by having a spot on your sidebar, but that doesn’t mean they got to pass PageRank. Organic links really should be found within your post content. Besides that’s where all the truth lies anyway, right?

Thanks buddy! I’m messing with a new nofollow/dofollow plugin, and I haven’t got it figured out yet. lol, that’s why the stuff looks funky at the moment.
Thanks for digging the vids, yeah, sometimes they get long and sometimes not, it depends on what I am covering.

Hey Man! Nice beat on the new vid!
I totally agree with you on cutting down the “ad fat” on what is essentially your “home”. You don’t want new visitors coming to say hello in their bare feet and steppin’ in that squishiness! I like it.

Wow! I’m loving the new theme!
And not only because it’s so much cleaner and more focused, but because it loads so much quicker too.
The last one took forever to load on my dodgy broadband connection, and to tell the truth, on a couple of occasions I had to give up and go elsewhere. No kiddin either. And that wasn’t good.
So nice one!
And yes, you should be an affiliate for all those foods!
You even give them free advertising in your comments

Hey Zania! Where ya been! ( I’ve been missing out on my reading of blogs as well so I understand lol) Thanks a lot, I’m really sad to hear you had issues, I wish you would have told me ” dude….your site loads like crap!”
I really do like it, and I’m glad you all are digging it as well, I spent quite a bit of time tweaking it, and it seems to be coded a lot better than the former, things are much easier to customize and as you said, it seems to load quicker.
As for the food sponsors…hey, maybe they’ll see me and sponsor me
It’s all in fun though.

As for the ads, that’s part of the experiment, I’ll still have a page for promo, and a few ads on the front. And will still have affiliate products that I promote in posts from time to time. I’m kinda hoping this will show an improvement by going against the norm…we’ll see..

Dude speaking of fresh if its in a can or a “bucket” ( they sell food in bucket in the U.S.A, huh maybe I aughta move there) I aint fresh. Like the new look though Jo. The vid length is just fine garry has is one of those ADD bloggers, the attention span of a gold fish. Speaking of gold fish did you know they come in BBQ now might wanna grab a boite (canadian for box) of those for your next sponsor,

Joe: Sorry I’ve been super busy getting caught up on things at work and my commenting and writing went down to a minimum. I’ll be back in action now that things have calmed down a bit so I’ll be a frequent flier again.
As for the new theme… great job with the little details in the customization. You’re on your way for sure bro… where are those damn griddle cakes?

@PB no worries bro, sometimes it happens. I’ve been super busy this week and my commenting/reading is down. Also, I’ve gotten a lil busy towards the end of the week and thus…as you can see…no griddle cake action/posts.

Good work here, Joe. I haven’t seen this kind of theme around so it’s pretty fresh for me. It’s neater and slimmer as you drop lots of stuffs into the footer.

Just what I needed to put a smile on my face. Sorry Joe, it’s been awhile since my last visit and I can’t recollect your last them, must be the brain cells dying as I approach 50. This theme does look good though, I can say that much. I’ve just spent some time changing the themes to all of my blogs, and it certainly is a good feeling when you’ve finished, especially if you have some hair left from all the hair pulling from sheer frustration

Yeah, I’m having some problems with certain plugins working with one of the themes, especially threaded comments and commentluv. The thing is I love the theme so much I may have to drop the plugins or completely lose my hair. lol

Don’t you hate that! I’ve had to ditch a few plugins for those reasons, I say if you love the theme, then just get rid of them or see if there is a way to hardcode it into the theme.
