Maxblogpress MaxBannerAds plugin reviewed

By Normal Joe | June 14, 2008

Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!

As you can see, I am testing out the newest plugin from maxblogpress called “Max Banner Ads”.  I must say, it’s one of the easiest tools to manage your plugins.  I know there are other options out there, but this one requires NO TWEAKING of the code’s theme.

It’s still in beta, so I ran into a few quirks, but nothing major, and adding my banners was very simple.  There is even an option to setup a widget to load banners in your sidebar.  I will be trying those out as well, but for now I just did the top post banner.

You can put them on the top post, in the post content, at the bottom of your page, and in the sidebar.  This is more than enough options for most people who are running their own banners.  It doesn’t facilitate automatic setup of advertisers for you, you have to put the banner in yourself.  There are other options if you want to automate the process of advertiser banners and payment.  It really depends on what you want to do.

For me, this is a very easy way to display my banners and offers without too much code editing.  The interface allows you to see which banners are in which zone and shows you a preview image of each.  It also shows the impressions, clicks, and click through percentage.

If you are looking for a better, and easier way to manage banners on your site, then get this plugin when it launches.  Even in beta, this thing is awesome, the guys over at maxblogpress have done it again.
