The physical info product paradigm

Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!

Lately, I have had the opportunity to have access to more physical information products.  I noticed, at least for myself, that I place a higher value on these.  Not only that, they are much easier for me to digest for some reason.

If you remember I won Joel Comm’s Secret Classroom, I also got myself a copy of Mike Filsaime’s 7 Figure Secret that launched, and, I already had a copy of Russell Brunson’s Wealth Building Portfolio.  Both Mike and Russell have a magazine that you can get a monthly subscription to, and I must say, they both are amazing.

I won’t lie to you, I canceled both in the begining, because I didn’t want to pay a monthly fee, but I am seriously considering signing up again.  They are giving out some very good content, more than what I expected, and I am learning quite a bit just from the various articles.

To me, design/package wise, Russell’s magazine is a little more polished in it’s presentation of the cover and the layout within.  However, I’m sure Mike will catch up, I think Russell has been at it for a while.  But the content in both is top notch, and I am already starting to implement things I have learned from both.

What this made me realize, is that it’s great to get a way from the computer to digest material.  I noticed in a few of the ebooks I’ve downloaded recently, the serious authors recommend printing out the ebook and reading it away from the computer.  I didn’t notice this as much until I started doing it myself.

Now, I don’t print out everything, only the stuff that I feel can become a regular resource for me.  But I do highy recommend that you try it, print out one of your favorite ebooks.  I plan to gather my favorite resources onto a usb drive, head to Kinkos or CopyMax, and get them printed and even bound up.

Having a physical copy of your material is a lot more mobile, even if you have a laptop.  It also allows you to get away from the distractions of being online, and can help with your time management.  I don’t know, maybe I am crazy and the only one that sees the benefit.  But, as an online marketer and internet addict, printed and offline resources are becoming very attractive to me.

Plus, it gives my eyeballs a rest from the computer screen, which I am in front of ALL DAY LONG!  So, just give it a try, print out one of your ebooks, and have a read.  I used to wonder why some marketers still make physical products, and now I know.  It is a totally different experience with the material than just reading an ebook.

Videos and audio, not that much of a difference.  Though, I like being able to watch a dvd on tv as opposed to streaming it, but, with HDTVs you can hookup your computer to the TV so….yeah.  Having that paper in my hand and turning the pages as I devour the information is a great feeling.  I suggest you try it out…you may fall in love with physical products again as I have :)

This is a facet of the online plethora information realm that I wish I had participated in earlier. I find myself print more and more for quick reference instead of yet another window on my computer or laptop screen. Also if I manage to get near a screen while working on a project before it is implemented I fall victim to poor time management and end up off on a tangent talking with others or something of that non productive project completing nature lol.

OH Yes!!! Boy do I know what you mean!  It is definitely becoming more of a habit for me to print stuff out.  It’s quicker to reference, and plus, I’m in front of the computer all day.  I have plans for some of my future products to be in physical form of some sort.

As far as time management, did you check out my guest post on it?  I talk about spending time online wisely, it may actually become a series.
