How to handle all the product launches

Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!
How to manage product launches
No, I’m not talking about launching your own product, but, maintaining your sanity amongst all the product launches that happen EVERY SINGLE WEEK.
It’s hard for seasoned consumers, but even harder for those that are new…to be able to discern what they need and what they don’t. Or shall I say what WE need and what WE don’t, because I have been guilty of this in the past, which is why I’m sharing.
The thing is, you have to evaluate the quality of the newletter you are on. Are they a promo only marketer? In other words, do they tell you every single day that the product they are promoting this time is the best ever?
I HATE those. I was on some big name marketers lists, and quickly got off, because they offered me no value, only sales pitches. Sure, we all want to make money from the list, but, you have to offer value as well. So, please tell me if I ever neglect this at all.
Do you need that product? Really?
Do you really need that product? Really ask youself why you want it? Is it because you think it will magically increase your sales or income? Here’s the truth…it aint gonna happen! This stuff takes work, it’s not easy, but many lose their shirt, home, cars, etcetera, by chasing after these EASY BUTTONS.
If it’s not something you need, but just something you want…then wait it out! I know I’m shooting myself in the foot, but I don’t care. I’m seek of seeing people recommended something they absolutely do not need and are not in the market for.
If you don’t have a website, why in the world do you need a $1200 traffic generation course? Find a book about setting up a site, wordpress, or something. Shoot, you can find out how to do that online. There is no point to buy such a course if you don’t even have hosting. Remember this is just an example, not a specific product, it could be anything. But it’s the thought process that I am speaking on.
You can still buy some things
Don’t think I’m saying not to by anything at all, just make wise decisions and don’t buy off of emotion. Again, I’m going against all the rules here, but, I think in the end you will thank me for it. I’m a marketer, and emotions, wants, are things that marketers targer. Ahh well…you know me, I’m off the beaten path, I don things my way…and I don’t want my readers getting caught up in hype. Which is why I’m always hype free in my promotions.
Here’s your dose of Joe
Hope you guys see what I mean, if not, here’s a video to explain it a little better, hope you enjoy!

Dude! If you only knew how much I despise seeing 39 emails, on the same day, encouraging me to buy the same damn product! Some of these guys don’t even switch up the subject line! I’m talking about veterans too man, not just rookies. To be honest, I learn the most from hungry newbies. lol
What really irks me is when I subscribe to someone who promises regular tips, only to find twists on their promo link weekly. lol. I wouldn’t even mind if there was a tip included with the product pitch, but nope, nothing, nada, zip.
I gotta split before I start naming names. lol
Oh, and I learned sooooo much from that $599 Marketing Secret! Thanks!
Cheers!

I don’t have a problem with that, I just want to see people succeed!

I get so many things everyday - almost all of them go to the spam folder. Buying based on emotions is never a good idea.

Yep, we all do, I suggest getting rid of some of those newsletters subs that you never read and always spam, what’s the point of keeping them? Which reminds me…I need to go do a little cleanup myself.

I can’t believe you’re letting that go for just $599 when the real value is $1297 - no, $1572 - no, $1643!!! You’re killing me.
I had an unsubscribathon last month and I am so glad to be off those stupid lists. Keep up the good work!!

Whats up man? So I’m hooked on your blog. I saw it on BlogGears and then I came back to vote on it and then I came back to comment on that video and now I came back to subscribe to your blog. Well, I agree that the point of newsletters is for content not for spamming. I get a lot of spam though. I have 500,000+ spam comments and 100,000+ spam emails. If you need help with the theme, let me know. I can probably help you out. - Enkay

Hey Enkay, thanks for stopping by man! Yeah, we all get spam, but sometimes these “newsletters” are nothing more than sales in the inbox. Which is fine, but just say that upfront you know?
I am working on another theme for a site at the moment that I could use some help on, do you know much about timthumb.php script that auto generates thumbnails?
I’ll be in touch…..

@Normal Joe - I haven’t heard much about TimThumb since most servers I have use ImageMagick which does the same thing. I’ll look into TimThumb depending on what you’d like to do with it.

Well I haven’t seen your video yet but I like your post! In fact it kind of reminds me of what I was getting at on my last post on Holly’s blog. I think there is too much that can be learned from starving newbies.
I avoided much blogging on the subject of Internet Marketing for a long time. But of course you always feel like you want to talk about what you learn and what you use or don’t use. So now I have the blog, if only I would just sit down and type all of the posts that have been in my head.
At least I can say I made one rule for my blog, which is that I never promote something I haven’t tried. And if I don’t think it is useful, I don’t put it on my blog. And if I think it is useful but I haven’t tried it myself, I don’t put it there. At least I can draw a line.
Anyway this reminded me of a page I made for fun once, way back in my early IM days … http://nobodywantsit.blogspot.com/2007/01/nobody-wants-it.html … I was just letting off steam I guess.
Anyway I’m glad to read your post. The biggest problem for me is that I don’t think there is enough information in those expensive products. I mean, 265 hours of pure video content, 46 E-Books, and 16 audios? That’s all? I mean, I have nothing to do all day. I just buy these measley little courses for $1500, and then I have to think of what to do for the rest of my evening. How boring!
I mean, what do they think I am going to do all day? Post on my blog? Write unique content? Nah … who has time for that! We’re here to read E-Books and watch videos, not make money!

Hahahahaha….nicely done Anna! You are so right, it’s like all we have time for is learning how to make money! I mean, is there nothing that can actually show us how to make money? Do we need to watch a weeks worth of videos 24hrs a day? Thing is, most of those products will tell you, “be efficient”, “use your time wisely” …well, to do that I’m sure you wouldn’t recommend I invest in your month long of 24hrs/day video watching course now would you mister guru? I mean…that would NOT be an efficient use of time!
Thanks for the well thought out comment, I think you should continue to put your thoughts down as I’m sure they will help us all out quite a bit!

Oh … I can go on a roll on this one! I hope you don’t mind. At least you are getting some unique content in your comments thread.
I MEAN … What I really don’t understand is that they PROMOTE the number of hours of “pure free content” they are giving you. “7 hours of videos for only ….” “Free 60 minute video!” I mean, what is this? A movie theatre? Videos are fine, don’t get me wrong. I like your videos too. But I am not a full-time college student in Internet Marketing. With all these videos and courses I could be. I could go for the full 4 years … 12 years … Bachelors Degree? PHD? …
“Ah yes, I have an IM PHD.”
“Oh really? What’s your profession?”
“I’m a student.”
Yeah, there should be scholarships too! State Scholarships for Internet Marketing degrees! Then we could pay for all those videos!
And now the latest thing seems to be “physical products” so they can get shipped. “It’s free! You have to pay only for shipping (so they get your credit card number for some hidden subscription) … ” Now you get to fill up your bookshelf with junk! And your garage too!
Hey! It could be a collectors item! You know, coins, stamps, rabits feet … E-Books! One day a 2005 Internet Marketing E-Book will be worth millions in an auction, as an antique. That’s how you will really make money online.
Okay I will try to shut up. The ironic thing is that I am reading a free E-Book I just found and it is all about this EXACT thing. Right now she is talking about “Upsell Hell.” You know, you buy something and then you get offerred to uy 5 more packages “you will only see this offer” and you have to scroll down and click “no thank you” over and over …
The name of the E-Book is Internet Marketing Sins, you can download it from my blog if you want, it is really cool!!!! I love Honest Internet Marketers! I just put it there today - it’s on the right sidebar.
Anyway, sorry for such a long rant. Whew.

Hahahaha, a woman after my own heart! You’ve talked about so much that I have on deck to cover! It’s so true. Some of the physical products are cool, some are junk…and I hate hidden memberships!
Yeah, you really could spend so much time trying to learn the next thing, and that’s the plan really…to keep you thinking you need the next course. Again, I’m probably shooting myself in the foot, being a marketer, but, I thrive on honesty and integrity, and you just don’t need everything you see.
I like to follow the same things you do, pretty much everything I promote I’ve tried, have, or have used other products from the same person. I don’t just go to clickbank and find stuff to promote. Nope, my personal blog is all about me as a person, and I refuse to pimp it and my readers by offering anything just to make a quick buck.
If I plaster it up on my blog, I believe in it…not just trying to make a few bucks.
Anna, I really love your outlook, you remind me a lot of myself
I hope you stay around for a long time to come!

I’m quite compulsive with my online shopping, so the tecnique I now use is to keep a List where I write the name of the product I want to buy and why. Then I wait 30 days, if I still need that product I’m confident that it’s not an emotional buy.
ciao
alex
P.S. don’t think that I’ve all the discipline to apply this tecnique every time, Joe’s $599 Marketing Secret was a catch i couldn’t miss ! LOL
