How can they do it?

Hey,are you new here? You should subscribe to my RSS feed miss out on any goodness!
You know, the more I am around, the more marketers I run into. I joined the mailing lists of a lot of the “top name” marketers, you know, I thought I better be on their lists, because, they are the “go to” people.
But, what I realize more and more is that most don’t really care about you as a customer or reader, they just see you as a number, a dollar on their mailing lists.
Some of them do nothing more than show me the next “must have” product, every single day! But then, and what is starting to bother me more than anything, is when these superstar marketers start promoting obviously bad or “somewhat shady” products.
I just don’t see how they can do it, I mean, lately, I’ve seen so many of the top marketers promoting the newest make money taking surveys programs, and it’s pretty bad. I won’t get into the actual program, I will save that for another post.
Let just say this, despite the fact that it went against my better judgment, I went for it. I mean, I had to check out this new program that all the top marketers were promoting, maybe it was different than the hundreds of other survey site crap programs….hmmmm….if so, I know my readers will want to know about it.
Needless to say, I got a refund! But it just made me think, is there many marketers that do so with integrity? Or is it just about building a list, throwing crap at the wall, and seeing how much of it sticks? I see both sides, but, I just can’t get with that. So, as you know, I’ve been moved to unsubscribe from multiple newsletters because of this.
I am very thankful for the few marketers that prove to be genuine people, and actually care about people. I know I won’t get them all, but some who have literally had a major impact on my outlook and method of marketing are:
Sean Mize- this guy is the best, straight forward and never about any crap, willing to help anyone who is serious, not about nickles and dimes here, he helps you build a real business. This guy answers his own email….not many do
Holly Mann- the sweetest marketer I have every met, she genuinely cares about people and is willing to help anyone, answers her own email
Ryan Moran - he started the whole social networking marketing thing, back before it was the next “in thing” and he genuinely is there to help people, answers emails himself
Todd Allan - you may not know Todd, and that’s okay, just do a search for long tail treasure, this guy is all about helping others, and doesn’t over promote his mailing list at all, but has an awesome course teaching you affiliate marketing, answers emails
the Davinator - he won’t promote every single thing, and will give you the low down on anything he promotes if you ask for it, answers emails
Travis Sago - the original bum marketer, very helpful, offers free courses and lot’s of good info, I have never tried to email him, but he is very helpful in the Wealthy Affiliate forum…helping out any who ask
I’m really grateful for these marketers, there are plenty others, but I think these few, they have proven that there are honest people out here on the internet.
some of the other marketers I like can be seen in my links……..I haven’t been involved with them as long to form my full opinion, but as it stands they are moving up high into my “do trust” list
TM Harris, Matt Garrett, Brian Campbell, Jack Humphrey, Bloggernoob, …… there are probably a few more, I am just drawing a blank at this moment.
The point is, I am focusing in on only those offering good information, and, I am purging my inbox of the ones that promote junk and do nothing more than promote to me.

Thank you Joe.
This response is way overdue but here I am. I was missing out on some really good posts here - your site is so nice Joe. I am extremely, extremely deeply grateful for knowing you, Davin and the other honest internet marketers I’ve met online. You guys are literally family - and It helps so much to have each other around online.:) Ok so, Joe - what you stated in the post is so true. I was extremely disappointed myself when I discovered some of the top IMarketers to be just out for the cash -clearly not caring one bit about your losses. Oh also, not only that, they were not internet marketers - they didn’t know about affiliate marketing (from an affiliate’s standpoint), or about SEO (at all), or anything like that. They were EXPERTS in the Sales industry - they knew how to present, how to be excellent professional public speakers, and how to reel you in psychologically. I witnessed it from an outsider’s point of view (I was fortunate to not have wasted any of my money because I was already making money online when I went to this conference). But there were hundreds to thousands of people there who were direly in need of some honest guidance. They were spending their last dollars on these coaching programs that they thought would change their lives. It was very upsetting to see the IM gurus taking advantage of the situation. It seemed almost cult-like - and they made people stand up and sing and get really pumped up and motivated, then they would each go into a story and explain some methods to making money (or selling) - and then they would offer to sell yo u a coaching package (for 5-10,000 USD). I asked one of those marketers about the coaching package and he told me bluntly, that I could login to the admin area and check it out myself. I said, “Oh that’s ok, I wouldn’t want to take up any time or space that would be for those people who paid such money for the service.” He told me that it didn’t matter - only a few people who purchased would ask for personal help - otherwise the so called “coaching area” was for people to login and download junk (literally, junk). What a package - and a disappointment - it’s sick to see these people. They put on such a front. Ok I will stop rambling and complaining here. This is a touchy subject for me (I’ll explain that some other time). You take care JK! You keep being you! You, Dav and I are a team - we can all reach and help people.

No Worries Holls, better now than never
See, this is the crap I’m talking about. These guys run around talking about how much they want to help out the “little guy” but they use their psychology to get him to spend his mortgage payment on a course that he doesn’t need because it talks about setting up a payment system and he doesn’t even have a website yet!
I have no problem telling someone “hey, you probably really don’t need this right now…” and I’ve done it many times! You know what…those people were grateful! That’s all that matters. Sure, I could have probably convinced them to buy whatever else I wanted….just to make more profit, but instead I only recommend what they need. This is for people who actually seek my advice.
And with the stuff I promote, I won’t just promote something because everyone else is, I need to believe in it.
I know you’ve seen some things…that’s why I’m so grateful to know you. I just wish I could get your book into the hands of anyone who even THINKS they want to work online! It should really be required reading!
