What you can learn from the recent Stompernet launchFor the two of you in this internet marketing industry that didn’t know, Stompernet had a crazy launch last week for their stomping the search engines 2.0 video course, and the net effect monthly journal. Â They gave you the entire course and the first copy of the journal for free, you just had to pay shipping. Â I talked about it a little bit when I showed you How to benefit from product launches. Of course, this launch is a prime example of how you can benefit from such events.
Anyway, I’m not here today to talk about that aspect of it, but what you can learn from the launch and how it relates to some of the stuff we talked about last week.
What I want you to see is the teamwork that was displayed through this launch. Â If you are a regular reader, then you remember last week I talked about how to reach success through teamwork. This launch is a prime example!
First, the launch already had crazy buzz, the stompernet dudes are known for bringing the funk! They always deliver the goods, and the first version of stomping the search engines is what allowed them to eventually
open stompernet where they charge $800/month for a membership. (From what I hear, it’s absolutely worth it, but this is for folks who are doing some serious business) So, they gave away the version 2.0 course, along with the original legendary course, all covering some detailed seo strategies. When they said it would be free just for trying their new journal, some folks almost fainted! I was there, and I ordered. I knew I’d order this, because I was so disappointed at the price of the stompernet membership, I had to get my hands on this for so cheap.
On launch day, the servers…well, the payment processor malfunctioned, making us wait another day! No worries, I was there in time! So, they are on the road to breaking all kinds of records already…but then they chose to “put it over the top”. That’s when they call in their friends.
They go and get extra bonuses from tons of top internet marketers, and not cheesy bonuses either, stuff you’d use, stuff you’d want…they made it irresistable. Â Not only did they have a great launch, but they
brought their friends along too.
It was no secret there would at least be an opt in required for most of the bonuses…so, by the mere fact that these folks were friends of the stompernet gurus…they got in on the action. Â But were they the only ones to benefit? NOPE! Brad and Andy benefited from their friendship with these gurus, they were able to grab some oustanding bonuses and push their launch into the stratosphere.
Of course, I believe it was all orchestrated and not some “last minute” deal to bring them in…but who knows. Â All I know is that they leveraged the power of friendships to ensure success for everyone. Who else got a copy of Stomping the Search Engines 2.0?

Green Giant ‘tatoes? What’s up with the Idaho’s man?
I must be lost in the game or something — I never heard half of those names.
But I’m certainly familiar with their marketing tactics. I’m not much for all the “hype” pre-launches have. And I’m positive those bonuses weren’t last minute like you suspect Joe.
It’s all marketing tactics to, like you said, increase the value of their product overall.
But the “tactic” is a very good one.
One thing I’ve learned from IM is the prices are always inflated — trust me, Frank from Mass Control taught me that one.
$800 per month is no where near what that course is worth, but of course there are people who will pay for it.
But what you’re pointing out Joe, is the most important lesson of all — their pre-launch, all the bonuses from Guru friends, and the free offers you only have to pay shipping for is what we should learn from.
Thanks for sharing. And, oh yea, FIRST!

Yeah boyeee…them joints go hard with them porkchops kid!
Yeah man…alot of those folks are cool, and have some good info, I’m all about getting junk for free man.
It is a good tactic, I don’t much care for all the hype myself, unless it’s really worth it. Personally, I think stompernet has some great info, even the free stuff they give away is top notch to me.
As for the worth of the course, it depends on your situation and what it can or will do for you. Folks who buy a course and it leads to them quadrupling or even having a small increase in profit will say anything they paid was well worth it. Not just the stomper boys, but anything, I’m speaking general. I just rolled with the free stuff…I had too, it was free and I’ve seen some of their quality. Would I pay 800/month…maybe, if it wasn’t a big deal for me but I won’t kill myself, or starve my family for it!
I know people have different feelings about this stuff, my main objective, like you said, was to show how the networking/friendships helped out. All of us “growing up” in this thing together could be the one’s helping each other out with launches, products, and such. Thing is, a lot of them met along the way…much like we all do, and they just grow from there. That’s the golden nugget for today lol.

Haha, I laugh at all the retards and sheep that will cave in to buy their “special course”. I’m hoping you didn’t buy the course Joe and just opted in for the free stuff.
I got bored of hearing about them after about the 2nd mention. When will people realize that all the information that they are providing is already listed on the net for FREE? The only reason why they are selling it is because people are dumb enough to not go out and find the information. There has been so much said about SEO already and it is always changing. How can you expect StomperNet to work 5 months down the road when Google is always adapting? You can’t!
And for all the rejects that would rather buy into their hype instead of doing research, if they are already too lazy to go out and find the information themselves do you really think that they are actually going to apply what they learn from the course? Hell no, they are just going to read it and sit there like they normally do hoping that the money and traffic will just roll in.
Mark Sierra sent out his newsletter a couple days ago promoting their course and I almost unsubscribed from his newsletter after reading the first sentence. Luckily he is a cool enough guy and I am gonna stay subscribed to his newsletter.
Anyways, that is how I feel about that!
Oh and yeah I wasn’t first, was busy with a website!

Hahahaha, I hear ya man. Lemme see how I can put this….hmmmm…BULL!!! Sorry dude, I hate when people come with this logic, it’s just not smart! Sure, you can research a lot of stuff, but if a company devotes entire staff, to people who study this for a living….why not pay for it? Of course, I haven’t, but that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t.
Would you apply the same logic to learning law, or becoming a doctor, or any of the other myriad of professions that people are educated in? Yeah, there is plenty online for free….and one can find much info, trust me, I know…I research too. But I’m not blind to the fact that there are people who know more than me, who specialize in things that I don’t, and who can help me get to the next level. Sure, some courses may be bloated…but that’s all in the eyes of the person who is using it.
If you are the one who’s profits double from someones teaching, you wouldn’t see it as bloated. However, if a person is like most, just gather info but don’t apply it…then yeah, it’s probably bloated. I sure did get the free course, and if it was in my reach…without stretching, I’d join stompernet. Stompernet is not a “course” it’s a membership, with folks who make their living from studying and profiting from google’s algorithms among other things lol.
Yeah, Google changes….what better education than from people who get paid day in and day out to analyze and profit from it! I usually hate product launch hype myself, but when I’ve seen the value, then it doesn’t bother me as much.
Again, one could say that about anything…the info is out there, we live in the information age. That doesn’t mean there aren’t professionals who are much better equipped in certain things.
And again, I’m assuming you must have been in stompernet to say that everything they provide is online for free! I learned long ago, that information marketing is all about paying for the convenience and the results. Sure, you could go out and gather info on just about anything, put in all the time required to become and expert and be great at it. Why not pay for it already gathered…packaged, and presented in a well laid out format and remove the guess work?
By the way..I got Frank’s free offer too!
It’s outstanding lol. Again, yes the info can be found through hours upon hours of research, reading, finding other books, and so on. But again, it’s the presentation, and how it’s taught.
Sorry, got a little long winded…but I simply hate people who through this logic out, it doesn’t make sense, not in any industry, there are always professionals, professors, colleges, trade school, and everything. I look at is as education. Since it’s online, people seem to place less of a value on it…but it’s there nonetheless.
Oh yeah…how you second man! I know you over there working on those niche sites, I see you dude! I’ll be looking forward to the full report

@Normal Joe – Hey Joe, no worries about the long reply.
Each of us has their own views and opinions on how the world should run and though we may not agree with each other it is what makes us human. You made some valid points though in you response, I am just one of those hands on type of guys where I have to do something myself. Sure I can listen to somebody and they can try to teach me but I will never fully grasp the concept until I actually try to do it myself.
Not to mention that I barely have enough money for anything nowadays let alone spending it online! lol

Oh no doubt Jarret, that’s why I knew I could respond like that to you and you wouldn’t take it personal. I was speaking in general, but the thought process was shown in that response. I too am a hands on dude…I love to do things myself, I also like to have some pointers too. I don’t look for push this button and get rich type stuff, that’s why I like the stomper stuff, it’s practical stuff you can use. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about the free stuff dude..you KNOW this! I can’t afford this other stuff either…but I do see value in SOME of it. Not everything that charges a lot of money is worth it…but, some of it is. Yeah, I could walk to the store [free] and the experience may be very beneficial, but…I can also get in my car and drive [paid...cuz gas is crazy] and get to the same destination only faster and more efficiently…well, maybe not price efficient, cuz that gas is a monster. There it is again, paying for convenience again!
Thanks for the response, you definitely have some points as well. Too many want a magic pill.

This sounds like a pretty solid launch. It is awesome how we can look at a launch, see that it is great and then we can learn about how to do our own launches from that.
Thanks for the post joe

I was an affiliate, really honed my chops on this launch by grabbing top spots in search, great google rankings, good traffic,
its clear to me that the course is totally worth the tiny investment.
Even as an affiliate i decided to run through a competitor affiliates link and order the mini courses myself and let her share the coommission luv.
i didnt want to miss out on the bonus stuff.
i think the whole concept of going and doing endless amounts of research on the web has both value and huge pitfalls
I myself found it hard to stay focused on the intense learning mindset while surfing and would frequently find my surfing wandering to unknown territory
too much wasting time
Damn that Amish Porn
something irresistible about “chicks in buggies….” but I digress
again
having a centralized source of verified and tested, credible information makes MY time so much more productive. and having the vast majority of it come free
makes the cake
thanks and take care

Welcome to the site Bryan, you must be something special if you were an affiliate lol. Either you’re in stompernet, or are a good enough marketer that they sent you the pre release stuff. Or you’re a secret ninja agent and you figured a way to get your affiliate info embedded into their list.
I feel you about being online and researching, losing focus, and having to get back on track! Not sure about the specific area of deviation lol, the “chicks in buggies” hahaha, priceless. But the idea is there, and having a concentrated course to follow is good. Not all people learn the same way, but, from my experience OUTSIDE of internet marketing, I like having courses to follow. I’m really a results based person, so having a course I can go through and check off let’s me retain stuff better….I can research with the best of them, and it’s still needed, but I don’t see the point in always reinventing the wheel. Again, that’s just my personal preference.
Welcome to the site, I look forward to seeing you around more.

Man, honestly, for 12 bucks to me, it’s a no brainer lol. Just cancel the monthly membership if you don’t want it, getting an entire SEO video course for the cost of shipping is definitely worth it, I don’t care who you are or what you believe. It’s not going anywhere though so….you know, it’s all good

@Joe: Great points in the comments!
I also get a lot of my research done in ways that are free, but I don’t think Stomper or anything similar is necessarily a scam or a rip off. Like you said, it really depends on the person and if/how they’ll benefit from it. Way too many people complain about something that “didn’t work for them”, without actually following the steps. They get half way through it, or worse, don’t read/try it at all.
Personally, I’ve used one “free guide” that came from Frank Kern (well… someone else, but he vouched for it) that helped make me money. Why? I followed it to a T, several times over. lol
If I haven’t tried/experienced the product/service, then really, I can’t say whether it’s crap or not, so I often don’t. I do pay attention if 8 gazillion people say it’s crap “after they used it” though. lol
Also, IMO, things aren’t as simple as “buy this guide and make riches”. It could be the best internet marketing guide known to man, but there are still many variables in your own life that will affect your individual success. You may need to develop additional skills, personality traits, etc. You may not be able to focus properly because you’re too busy with other things. You may simply be someone who has to do the same thing 7 times before you get it right. The list goes on.
Anyway, I’m also down with the Green Giant, and wanted you to know that!
Cheers!
Jay

Thank J-man! I hear ya dude, free is the way of the ninja for me lol, but I’m not naive to think that some things aren’t worth paying for, I’ve experienced it, not just in IM but regular life. Even through my job, there is free info for getting certified, but…there are other books, courses, and training that gather the info and present it in a way that makes it easier to consume and saves time from having to find all the sources that these folks get paid to find! So, my mindset is not strictly based on the world of internet marketing, but just life lessons.
Too many people that believe in the “buy this and your set” mentality end up buying stuff that they don’t need at all for their business, but they get caught up in the hype! It sucks, but it’s true, and a few thousand later they realize that running from product to product is not the way. I build my knowledge library the same way I built my home studio…I didn’t just go out and buy a whole gang of stuff. After time, spent with one item, I realized what I needed next, then I work on getting that…and add on piece by piece.
I will tell you man, one of the best training courses online at the moment is something I’m in, and it’s FREE, it’s freaking amazing! lol, so…it’s all about value to the person and “can it help me, or do I just want to buy it so I can say I have it!”
Green Giant in the hizzy.

What’s crackin, Joe?
Potatoes are my favorite baked with some pork chops, serious!
Anyway, I listened to the video and read the post, but what really sticks out in my mind is the networking and friendship building of this business. It is about TEAM, together everyone achieves more. I know that is lame, but still true in this business and just about every other that you can thinking of.
These boys at StomperNet was doing their thing and I am sure it is going to pay off. Yes, you probably can get the information somewhere else, not sure I don’t have the product, but the fact is through their promotions they really created a brand, respect, and credibility in many buyers minds.
And frankly, that is all that matters. If your buyer trust you and believe that you have a product/service that will make a difference in their lives, they will pull the trigger and spend their hard earn money with you.
You are building trust and a wide team, Joe. All of this is in your future as well.
I’m with Joe!

Yep, that’s what it is man, all about team yo! They have built a brand, and trust, and value, no matter what anyone says. There products are working for people OUTSIDE of internet marketing. I’m talking about real businesses that have budgets set aside for training and stuff, and have budgets for “e commerce” lol. We have to think bigger than the internet marketing niche, even though that’s where we are.
I just want to keep it real with everyone man, and show what I find or learn or whatever and how it can apply or enhance your current situation or future plans. Value is a personal thing, some people pay 100s of thousands for classic cars, others like paintings. Some spend thousands on audio equipment, others spend that much on bikes! The main thing is, everything has a value to a specific person, and no one can comment or tell another something isn’t valuable because it’s not to them. I have friends that spend thousands on mountain bikes…I would never do that! However, my wife continues to think I’m crazy because she can’t see the difference between a casio keybord and a roland fantom or yamaha motif, or an mpc 4000 ( sorry, that’s my music producer stuff coming out lol) So like you say, building trust and having value to the people who want/need it is all that matters. The folks that don’t buy aren’t going to no matter what…you can’t change that.

I, too, grabbed up these great freebies. Well, all except for one. I don’t remember the guy’s name, but I didn’t want to give my credit card for a $1 trial and know that I’d forget to cancel and be charged more. Though I think there were two things I signed up for that I’ll have to cancel later anyway, but I didn’t want to stretch myself too thin.
I found it interesting in the diverse ways these guys made their optin forms. Some were more professional than others, but it goes to show you that there’s a lot of room for all types of delivery and still make big bucks.
Now my problem is making the time to read all the stuff I downloaded! Not to mention how many mailing lists I’ve just joined.
Oh, and let me just point out the obvious: that Mike Filsaime is the master at upselling things!! I chose the Butterfly Effect, but was stunned (and slightly annoyed) at all the “so you didn’t like this deal, can I interest you in this one?” type pages. I like the concept as I’m sure it works, but I think it was a bit over the top by about 2 upsells.

Yeah, everyone has their own style, I don’t think I paid for any trials either, even though I expected it. It’s alot to go over, so I tried not to start any of the 1month trials because well, I doubt I’d get to them in 30 days lol, hopefully I can save them.
Mike is like you say, the up, cross, back, forward, let me speak to your dog sell guru lol. I got his 7 figure code freebie, his upsells and crosssells are freaking annoying! There are too many and the person not well versed in them, I can see how it’s overwhelming and easy to get sucked in. I just kept clicking no…but man. If I didn’t want to buy your freaking 97 dollar product, why in the freakin world would I pay for your 1997 dollar product lol. Hahaha, I feel you man, that’s the stuff I learn from too, that’s the stuff I will NEVER do.

Me: No thanks.
MIke: How about this one for $10?
Me: Seriously, dude, I’m good. Thanks.
Mike: Can I speak to your dog?
Me: My dog doesn’t talk.
MIke: Can I interest you in software that will allow anyone to speak to their dog in under 30 minutes? In 7 different dialects?
Me: Not interested. I’m going to catch the last 10 minutes of Wipeout. Thanks though.

Of course the server muck up was orchestrated.. didn’t that happen with Kern and the Mass Control launch?
I don’t do hype.. and I don’t do $800/month membership sites.. that’s my rent payment, and no system that cost that much will make me back the same amount each month from day one.. I think it’s ridiculous that “regular” people actually put 10 G’s towards something they can get with a little networking, some trial and error, a handful of patience and a pinch of hard work…
I’ll say it one more time – I don’t do hype, never have, never will… Lynn Terry who is one of my favorite people online has been blasting SN since the launch – EVERY DAY! feel free to ask me when the last time I commented on her blog was… before the SN launch.. cause I’m not going to comment on something that I will never buy…

I hear ya E, you know I feel you man. Was it made up…dunno, do these things happen, yeah…I’ve seen many people’s sites go down form traffic, you’d think these big dogs would have it taken care of, but who knows, this time it was the payment processor…whatever lol, it worked. I hear you about hype, and most of the time I just move on by, the ONLY reason, I was interested in this one, is because I saw some of the earlier videos they gave away before their last launch and I was impressed. I still dismissed all the emails telling me how great it was…I already knew I was gettting that free course lol. You definitely won’t see me blasting something everyday…and I agree, there is no way I’m paying $800/month, that’s about 400 less than my mortgage! I don’t think it’s for beginners at all….it’s for established business folk, in my opinion. But again, without being on the “inside” it’s hard to say you can get the same stuff…I don’t know, I’m not in there, but again, you could say the same for a law degree or phD right?
The bottom line is this, regardless of if you like these products or not, the marketing behind them works, and continues to work, and there are lessons to be learned. No, you don’t have to work a launch like these folks do, but the way they work as a team is the take away for me, and I’m grateful for ALL OF YOU that are part of my team. Some of you are closer than others, but we are all a team, and that’s what helps us out. Even if it’s just having your boy telling you “you can do it” or ” get to work and stop watching pharcyde” that’s worth millions to me.
Now….get to work on the flips!
