Transform Your Thinking: How Your Thoughts Affect Your Success

Yep, it’s finally here folks, another addition to the blog! Okay, it’s only been a day lol, anyway….

Today, I want to talk about something that I have been studying, using, and wanting to share on this blog for a while. I want to talk to you today about your thoughts and how they effect your success.  Many don’t realize how much power your mind has on your actions and ultimately you reaching your goals.  If you don’t think the right way about something…..your chances of obtaining it are pretty slim.

No matter if you call it the law of attraction, new thought, positive thinking or whatever name you want to give it, the point is that when you transform your thinking, you will transform your life! I hear you man…. ” if it were that easy, everyone would have whatever they want”. I hear you…and no body said it was easy, but why is that?

The problem is we’ve all been programed by our upbringing, our social surroundings, and our life experiences.  All these factors play a major roll in developing our core belief systems.  I’m not talking about your political or religious views, though they may effect or be effected by it. I’m talking about the subconscious mind, and how what you’ve been taught, or what you’ve inherently picked up can have a negative effect on your growth.

I plan to get deeper into specifics throughout the coming weeks, and just wanted to give you an introduction into what I’m talking about.  So check out the video, and let me know if you’re ready to change your mind.

Hey Joe, I like this angle your taking because I think a lot of people have the dream and the vision but not the belief, and that belief part makes all the difference. Until you really truly have that, you can work yourself to the bone your whole life and never allow that prosperity in.

So just keep doin’ what you’re doin’ because I think your straight talk will ring true for a lot of folks that normally might dismiss this.

    Peace!

Positive outlooks are important, but they need to be realistic as well. Dream big, but work toward an achievable goal. If you are setting your goals at a lofty height it may be very difficult to stay positive if you are not achieving them.

Help yourself by being positive, but be realistic so staying positive isn’t as hard.

Yo Adam…I hear you man…but I instantly saw this as a perfect example….what is realistic? Realistic for who? I think we’ll use this thought process as the first example!

Being positive is hard man! Because we’ve all be conditioned to be negative, changing that in your life is gonna take work! Constant work…but it will get easier.

    Adam - Creadiv.com (16 comments) Reply:

Realistic is attainable. You can say I want to increase my traffic and profit by 15% this month because it is achievable. But saying I want to make $4,000 dollars this month from blogging when you are at $0.00 now is unrealistic. It just won’t happen so by setting the bar to high you are setting yourself up for failure.

Again…you’ve proved my point. Just because you don’t believe it doesn’t mean it’s not possible, but it certainly means it’s impossible for you. Some would say making 12 thousand dollars a month in 4 months is impossible, others say it’s not and they get it done.

I can give many examples….but your responses just further solidify my point. However, I will not tell someone it’s impossible to make 4000 from a blog, or through anything that their blog aligns them with. Again….thanks for the perfect example of how your mindset can and does affect your success.

I hope you don’t mind if I use this for next weeks post. If so, just hit me up and say “no way sammich man” and I’ll just speak in general terms.

    Adam - Creadiv.com (16 comments) Reply:

Joe, use it away. I can see how it can prove your point. :)

I guess I shouldn’t say it is impossible, but more improbable. They likelihood that it will happen is slim. Yet it does happen.

You are right mindset does go a long way, but my mindset has been to achieve great things this month and yet I haven’t done it. It just seems to me that it is much easier to stay positive if you set goals that you are likely to achieve.

Hey Joe! Nice post, as usual. What can I say. You gotta belief you will succeed, you gotta belief in yourself and in your products. I learned that in normal life, watching my “mentor”. Any new company he opened and new business venture, if you ask him about it, he will tell you that he has the best products, best value for your money, best quality. I know that everybody tells you that to sell their merchandise, but trust me, I haven’t seen anyone telling it with so much passion and power to make you believe in something. He always tells me, “if you launch something, product or service, if you don’t believe in it, in it’s quality or in yourself then you better step back”.

Have a very nice day Joe ;)

  5. SuiteJ (58 comments) Says:

Believing first is everything man. How are you going to make something happen if you’re already doubting the outcome? You’re right though, it’s easier said than done and it takes some conditioning. Even after you get over one hurdle, you’ll probably still need to work on your thought process to help get over the next.

Each time something works for you though, you’ll build confidence in your ideas and actions, and it should get easier as you go. :)

I talked to you a little about this on Skype, but even though I’m doing alright, I feel like I’m spinning my wheels a bit. I want to bump it up to the next level, but seem to have fell into a “comfort zone” with where I’m at. That’s totally not “me”, and I’m just starting to realize it so I’m trying to shake things up a bit. I think one of the best things you can do is start taking small steps into unfamiliar territory and uncomfortable zones. Do stuff that scares you. Email a “big dog”, do your first video, write a post that reveals something about yourself…anything…you’ll find it liberating and it will most likely build confidence.

I could go on for a while, but I realize this is a comment box. lol

Looking forward to more posts on this vibe. :)

    Cheers!
    Jay

I also like the idea of stepping out of your comfort zone, you don’t know how much progress I’ve made just by doing that very thing! I’ll approach anybody man! I don’t care…they put on clothes just like me… ( maybe not….some just rock the pineapple) But, I’m just like that man…I’ll run up to any guru if I want to meet them…in person…like “whatup man” lol.

But you right, that stuff is still scary, it’s not comfortable, and it’s not “easy”. Folks want easy…they don’t want a challenge…I say bring it!

    Dude,

    You’re on the money!

    This is how I see it . . .

If someone thinks negative about something, they’ll look down upon it, or feel it’s something that’s “impossible”. <— that’s a false way of thinking.

Why is it false? Well because before even trying, people automatically feel it can’t be done. It’s almost like they’re psychics!

I’m like, really? How do you know? Gees, read me my future please!

Joe, I don’t get it man. These people and their negative thoughts — let’s just call them LAZY!

I’m a go getter! Nothing is telling I can’t do something, till I go try, fail, and then fail 3 more times. Even then I keep at it. I don’t know, maybe it’s just how I am.

But I can’t stand people who don’t bother to even try, because, to them, it seems way too “far out”.

    Great post once again!

Social conditioning- that’s it! Hubs and I are at the “comfortable but not happy” level- approximately what I grew up in. If you don’t live in abject poverty, it’s hard to pull yourself up to, say, middle class. :-)

I just got a wonderful reminder today from my job on why I wanted to work for myself. I’ve gotta step up my game, because I don’t think I can take much more of this, and the job market sucks.

Thought Is BOSS, nothing happens with out first thinking it. Think about it for second, no think about this. ” I think therefore I am” really get that in your flat heads. You are ,have what you think.
Now heres a question Ive been pondering.
Typically most schools of attraction have this in their books or what not. Focus on what you want and say what you want, ask the universe for what you want, so for instance suppose you say you want a sammich, you know ask the genie in the bottle for a sammich. I want a sammich. Wont the universe leave you in a state of want?, after you asking for a want. Im sure the universe doesnt understand grammar.
Id go about social conditioning but Id freak your ass off. Man there some seriously heavy dudes out there that dont want you to get any where but broke in this universe and they condition you every day to have a poverty mindset so that the good stuff doesnt come to you but goes to them, ok where’s my tinfoil hat, gotta protect my head from the cosmic rays and all that.

Got another Texan here giving you a thumbs-up on that sponsor of yours! ;)

I’ve been reading on and off an inspirational book that says over and over that we are in charge of our own success. It also says that where we are today is the result of our own decisions, not anybody else’s, but our own decisions or lack thereof.

I’ve been getting into the habit of telling myself that recently. For far too long I’ve felt I’ve played the victim in so many ways. But I’ve come to realize it’s that sort of thinking that has kept me down and hold myself back from doing things.

Time to stop the stinkin’ thinkin’ and better myself. :)

Have a good weekend, buddy! Maybe I’ll catch you on GTalk.

Too true, Joe (and everyone else who chimed in!). And you know what…I guess I hadn’t really thought about it until Anna mentioned it, but I also have that brain obstacle of “Ha!” at the thought of making $10k/month. Not so much that I think it’s impossible. More like I think to myself “WOW! People can make $10k/month? I wish I could…too bad I can’t” DOH! Bad thought! Go to your room!

But you’re right, Joe. Frame of mind, in many ways, will frame your life. If you keep everything in tiny little boxes in your mind, then you can’t expect to be outside the box with your life. You gotta keep your mind open to the possibilities and believe that you’re capable or you won’t be.
