more marketing tips with tons of personality.

Many people say twitter sucks, especially for business. I say it’s probably their methods that suck.

Many people, especially in business have no clue how to use social networking properly…so they look like Mathew Lesko in a question mark suit

on all the social networks.

Yeah…that works for him…you…not so much.

Watch the tip in todays video and tell me what you think.

Oh yeah, and connect with me on twitter lol.

Good point. Now that I have been on Twitter for some time and not really interacting as much any more, I have a good perspective on what you are talking about.

Lately, I have just been connecting with people locally and networking with them. We leave @ replies like email, not expecting an immediate replay, but a reply and not more spam.

When I started, I made the mistake of using automatic replies that basically just spammed my site. I removed that and am moving more towards using it as another outlet to position myself as an expert in my niches and build awareness….eventually that will lead to sales, memberships, and clicks.

    Keep them coming, Sammich Maaaaaannnn!!!!!

You should do a Sammich of the Month or something crazy. Haha

And that’s what it is baby! Communication and establishing your knowledge when people ask for it. Being accessible to others, and wiling to help. This leads to a long term relationship, which always is better in the end.

Trying to get it Taylor! Gotta wake up the blogsphere man. lol.

LOL. Lovin’ the new headlines you’ve been bustin’ out, man!

Besides selling, you can get info/help when you need it, often within in minutes – assuming you don’t suck and are known to offer help in return. If you got a problem and send a quick tweet to question your peeps about it, you can often get a solid answer in less time it would take to contact a support desk, etc. So in that regard, Twitter can actually “save you time”.

Man, I can’t even begin to list the great resources I’ve come across just from clicking links in messages from peeps I trust on Twitter. Stuff I wasn’t even necessarily looking for, but was like “wow! awesome, didn’t even know that existed!” and ended up helping my business.

    Twitter doesn’t suck….you know the rest…

    Cheers man.
Good to see you back @ coffee time bro. I missed dat! :)

Yeah dude, when you network, it’s really a good resource, I’ve been helped and helped a lot, and anytime I do make some sales, it’s usually during the course of a conversation and I’m asked for a recommendation or something.

    Dudes be buggin!

cuppa joe in full effect baby! Now all I need is my mugg on a mug!

So Joe, how do you use Twitter for im? Do you follow a million people there and spend hours trying to conect with them ? I´m sorry but that doesn´t seem a profitable way to go. I´m one of the ones that sucks on Twitter :)

    Normal Joe (2055 comments) Reply:

well “creditos” the world and internet is a lot bigger than IM. I don’f follow a million people, that would be stupid, there’s no way to connect with that many people on a personal level.

    BUT

building relationships is not always a one on one thing, depending on how you interact with people across various forms of media you will be able to make connections with multiple people at once.

and trust me, building relationships is much more profitable than quick cash…because that’s the difference between a flash in the pan business that doesn’t last and a brand that sticks around for a while with loyal customers.

don’t suck man, it’s not too late to change lol.

Thanks for the info Joe. :) Some people really need to hear this – and know it’s about building friendships and networking rather than spamming. A lot of my website traffic is coming directly from Twitter – so it is a profitable venue. You don’t need to directly sell to the users, just provide some quality info and tweets here and there!

Very good point. I see Twitter misused and that’s part of the problem. It’s a SOCIAL network not a selling network.

Indeed, it’s all about relationship if you want longevity. Many just want a quick flash in the pot profit…and the gain it at their own destruction long term.

Hey there! I came across your site from Luis site! In any case, I’m an SEO writer and wanted to see what you had to say about twitter. You know, this morning I ran into this one site where you can pay a fee to get more folks folks following you? Its like morefollower (dot) com or something like that. I thought that was wack. Isn’t the trick to try and get quality follows rather than quantity? Anyways, let me know what you think.

You got it man, many people think many different things.

People who want tons of random followers are they type to just throw up a bunch of marketing and take what sticks.

People who are building communities, herds, fans, partners, etc…whatever you want to call them, we understand it’s more about the quality.

I can do more with 100 people who are in love with, know, like, and trust me to help their business than 1000 who just followed me because they have it set to auto follow.

I would never pay for followers man lol.

Welcome to the site yo! I’m glad to see ya! Luis is a great dude!

You know, I’ve been playing with twitter more and I think you are right. You are better off focusing on the 20 percent that produce 80 percent of the results rather than focusing time and energy on the 80 percent that don’t do much.
